Give Ozarks Day: Rally for Recovery

March 17, 2021

On Wednesday, March 24, The Geek Foundation is participating in Give Ozarks Day: Rally for Recovery event, an online giving day event from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m! Along with more than 150 Ozarks nonprofit agencies, The Geek Foundation is participating as part of our region’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the success of our first adult IT and web development workforce development training classes held during the pandemic in 2020 (60% of graduates found jobs within two months of graduation), The Geek Foundation is raising $20,000 to expand our classes to give access to rural areas like Aurora, Monett, El Dorado Springs, and Hermann.
By partnering with the Drew Lewis Foundation’s rural RISE program, The Geek Foundation will offer our Full-Stack Web Development class via virtual education to partnered rural communities. Rural community members could greatly benefit from these educational opportunities that lead to high-paying, remote careers that provide workforce and economic development opportunities in a career field that is growing at a faster rate than ever.
